New Beginnings

Speaking from personal experience, I can say that there is something extraordinarily powerful about new beginnings. You're at the edge of a cliff about to dive down into the vast unknown. And just for a moment, among the fleeting thoughts of terror, you're filled with the feeling that you can do anything. Suddenly you know, you were meant to do this all along.

You were meant to find this new beginning. You were built for this journey. Every step, no matter how confident or cautious, is a step in the right direction. You're following your dreams.

I've been thinking about my journey a lot, lately. How many times I've stood on a cliff and jumped off. Letting the wind carry me where it desires or learning to fly in the direction I want to go. I feel that familiar rush. The rush of knowing that I am right on the edge of something new, something that is wonderful and terrifying at the same time.

And so it is will a great deal of courage I say what I am about to.

I want have a creative career. I don't want the PhD or the 9-5 or the boring stuffy office suit. I want to show up in my floral printed/polka dotted tops and long flowing hair and I want to make things. I want to make beautiful things. I want to make beautiful things for myself and others. And I want that to be my career.

Opening my new shop in August was an amazing start. I'm going further, though. I am going to put it all out on the table and announce something that has been near and dear to my heart for so very long, now. I will now be offering creative services. For the memories you want documented, but you don't know where to start or you don't have the time, I am now offering my creative services for hire.

  1. What an fresh, creative idea! I have never heard of someone offering these services, but it is such a great idea! My mom always "hires" me to make her scrap books (meaning she pays me in food)... if I ever feel overwhelmed I will guide her to you!

    Hope to see you saturday!

    Much Love,

    Renée

  5. I hardly ever comment on blogs but I have to say I found your blog through cayleegrey and just fell in love with it! I find your story so fascinating, and relatable. I just can't believe how young yet experienced you are. You're much further down the infertility and relationship road than I am and yet I'm five years older.

I wish you good luck with this recent career move! Today I decided to take a leap myself, career-wise. It is never too late to take a step back and switch paths :)
