Still busy with the move and working. Not much is going on because it's all I've made time to do really. I'm sorry I'm copping out of giving you a real post and sticking you with all these lovely pinspirations instead ;)
Which I'm sure you'll find as lust-worthy as I do.
With all the clutter and stress of moving, thinking about my dream house is keeping me sane.
Every time I move I like to envision where I will eventually end up when I finally make a real commitment to buy or build a house.
I know I want my home to be a place of happiness and gathering. A place for fun and memories to be had. Where people aren't worried about painting on the kitchen table without a table cloth or the dogs scratching up the floor. I want a home that can really be LIVED in.
Because of this, I always imagine huge farmhouse tables in my dining room.
A place that family and friends gather around and stay a while :)
I love all these distressed lighter versions. Where people don't worry about ruining the varnish or finish. You can eat, craft, and have game nights without worrying about something as meaningless as ruining the expensive money. Because a house can be filled with nice things... but it isn't a home until it's filled with nice people.

Studio Space- My Grandmother's Granddaughter
The countdown to move day has begun as I rush to organize, clean and pack in the next two weeks. Moving to my new space has presented a few challenges that are well worth conquering.
My biggest challenge is going to be taking my bedroom and studio space, and combining them into one room in the new place. This is a huge task because I have so much stuff.
My crafting has taken over my current home. My philosophy for the new year is still burning bright though.
Living simply with less.
So I'm minimizing the amount of things I have and trying to organize as best I can.
Beautiful studio/office spaces that have inspired me-
Looking at studio spaces reminds me of my grandmother. She died when I was 12 but I am certain that I got my crafting gene from her since nobody else in my family has it. I often wonder if she were still alive, what kind of a relationship we would have. How we would bond over our love of creating beautiful things. How I might know how to sew since that was her crafting expertise. And I wonder if she would be proud of the woman I have become. The woman I have molded myself into and chosen to be.
I like to think she would be.
That she would look at my life and be proud of my independence. That she would admire my soft spirit and kind heart. And that she would be proud that I am my grandmother's granddaughter.

Country Chic
Just when I thought I was recovering from being sick the last 3 weeks, it comes back.
So I called out of work tonight with the intentions of going to sleep at a decent time because I won't be working until 2 am. Ganna work on some cleaning and organizing to help prepare for the move coming up this month.
Moving has me thinking about my future home. My style is continually developing and changing. From minimal to girly and now I think I have finally found my absolute love.

Absolutely loving all the white. Mason Jars, flowers, burlap, lace. I could go on and on, but the style speaks for itself. It's lovely without being "showy." It makes a place really look like home. Like its lived in and loved in. It's also minimal in extravagance. Which is the personal journey I'm on this year. It's not about having the best, its about making the best of what you have. To focus on the beauty of every day items. To be more invested in my life and my family than what I fill my home with. Because a home should be filled with love before anything else.
Now who wants to have a mason jar craft night?
xoxo
