2014 December Daily Album Flip Through Video

December Daily Album Part 3

This post wraps up all the photos of my 2014 December Memories / December Daily Album. Seriously, this album was such an investment of time and energy. I didn't finish it until February or March, it was just such a huge project to dive into, it was very overwhelming when I first started.

I am so glad to have recorded and documented all of these memories from December though. Instead of sticking to the 25 days of Christmas theme that most people go with, I instead chose 31 memories or moments from December that I loved. It was a lot easier for me because not every day in December was filled with holiday fun or anything memorable as I was mostly working the first half of December.

I used the December Memories kit by Gossamer Blue this year, as well as a few Pailsee Press items, some free Christmas printables I found on Pinterest and a few things I had in my stash already. I also created a section in the back of my album to hold all of the Christmas cards we got and all of the thank you cards that came after the holidays. I wanted to make sure that ALL of my Christmas stuff was in one place and I really love that the thickness of this album allowed me to include everything I wanted to!

I learned so much this first attempt at using a mini album system for my Christmas/December memory keeping method. I know next year I will be ready to kick some major memory keeping butt with all that I learned about the process and what works best for me, this time around! December Daily Album Part 1

This past Christmas was my first year I tried to create a mini album to document December and whew! Let me tell you, I am so happy that it's over. This project took so much more energy and time than I ever imaged, it felt like I would never finish! But I finally did and I'm bringing the entire album to you this week!

I used the December Memories kit by Gossamer Blue this year, as well as a few Pailsee Press items, some free Christmas printables I found on Pinterest and a few things I had in my stash already.

December Memories- Album Cover Makeover

Earlier this week I shared my base pages for my December Memories album. Today I'm sharing my album cover. One of my favorite things about the Gossamer Blue December Memories kit this year is the mini album it comes with. This handbook is HUGE, it must be 2"- 3" thick. So much room for fun inserts, embellishments, holiday cards that friends and family send and of course, photos from this month.

I was so excited when I saw the album, but I also knew I couldn't keep it with it's standard design. I'm all about personalizing my projects. See the before and after;

I added a few coats of white acrylic paint and kept the spine it's original color. The gorgeous gold glitter reindeer to the cover was from the Dollar Tree. It's so festive and definitely my favorite part. I've known since I bought it last year (it's an ornament meant for the tree) that I would use it on whatever December Daily type mini album I was going to do this year. I'm completely obsessed.

December Memories Base Pages

Hello, everyone! I'm participating in a fun blog-hop with my fellow Gossamer Blue ladies. We are all showing you something fun we've done with the new December Memories kit. December Memories is a mini album kit that comes with a 6x8 album, tons of gorgeous papers, inserts, journaling cards and embellishments. Everything you see in the photos below came with my pretty kit!

Today I'll be sharing some of my base pages in my album. I'm using so many wonderful techniques for this album. Lots of fun inserts, full pages of pretty paper, see through pockets with fun elements like sequins and vellum. You'll see a lot of blank spaces in the photos below where you can see through the layout onto the next page I have in my album and that's intentional. I didn't want to plan "too" much because I like to style my page around my photos. So I left blank spaces for photos and didn't worry about making anything too permanent.
